Price of Item Formula

To determine the price of an item by its ounce: price ÷ ounce = price of item by the ounce

If the item is not in ounces just remember that there are 16 ounces in a pound so then you would multiply the weight by 16 to determine how many ounces there are and then divide the price by that number of ounces.  For example let us say the item is 1.5 pounds and is $4:

1.5 x 16 = 24
4 ÷ 24 = $0.17 per ounce
