Filda house

Over a millennium ago, when Christianity first came to the Celts, conflicts arose in the academics of the day. On one hand stood those dedicated to the natural sciences the people had always looked to for the answers. On the other were those who saw Christianity as the culmination of those studies. These took the name Filda (Followers of the Light): it is in honor of their pursuit of Truth that... we take our name.

At Filda House we will not only house students, but also have discussions, social events, and lectures throughout each month of the semester. Each of our events has a goal of reaching students where their needs arise. Our discussions will be centered around applying academics to personal life. We will work with the students to take a deeper look at the implications of their coursework on their worldview. Social events, such as game nights, will be geared towards strengthening community and offering opportunities for spiritual fellowship. The lectures will provide intellectual exploration beyond the students normal coursework. The monthly lecturers will bring a speaker with whom the students may or may not agree, but will challenge them to examine the basis for their beliefs.
